Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association is excited to announce its 2012 Step Up Walk.

We’re asking the community to Step Up! If you have Down Syndrome, know someone that has Down syndrome or just want to show support come join us!The Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk is a one-mile pledge walk designed to help increase public awareness and the acceptance of individuals with Down Syndrome as well as raise funds to support initiatives and services for them in our own communities.

The 2012 Step Up Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2012. The walk will be held at the Wall Township Municipal Complex on Allaire Rd in Wall, from 9 am to 1 pm.. This event is more than an awareness walk. The event will include refreshments, activities and entertainment in a place where the community can relax, have fun and enjoy each others company. There will also be prizes for participants.

The deadline to preregister is Friday, September 28th. Step UP t-shirts CANNOT BE GUARANTEED to those who register after this date. If you are preregistered, go directly to registration to check-in and pick up your t-shirt.

Registration is necessary! You can register as an individual, family or as part of a team that you can start yourself or join another.

The Annual Walk will be the primary fundraising event for the Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association. Funds raised from this Step Up Walk will allow us to support expecting and new parents, continue outreach within the area’s medical community, offer activities and more to enhance the lives of individuals born with Down syndrome and their families. The Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association is a volunteer organization, and 100% of funds raised go directly to support the programs and services of the Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association.

The Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk will take place rain or shine! Sorry, no refunds will be given.
